Step 5: Style Your Poll

Poll Builder 7.0 LInked Images

You can specify the look of your poll. You must be familiar with HTML and style sheets (CSS) to edit styles using this page.

The left panel shows the style elements that you can edit to change the appearance of information displayed to the recipient.

The right panel shows the copy as it appears to the recipient. However, if you specified a redirect URL for the thank you or expired messages, you cannot edit the style and the right panel does not display a tab for that message. When you select a tab above the right panel, the left panel changes to display the HTML coding for the page you selected.

To specify the appearance of your poll:

  1. Click the Poll tab in the right panel.

To specify the look of the thank you message, you click the Thank You tab in the right panel. Similarly, you click Expired Message to change the look of the message that appears when a recipient tries to access a poll that has expired.

  2. Edit the style of the elements whose appearance you want to change.

You specify the style by entering style information in the curly braces ({}). For example, to make the entire poll appear in a sans-serif font, change #pollcontainer{} to be #pollcontainer{font-family: sans-serif}. For more information, consult a reference on cascading style sheets.

  3. To specify a different image for the Submit button, check the "Use image for sumbit button" option and enter the URL that points to the image to use.

The image can be in any standard graphics format, such as GIF, JPG, or PNG.

  4. Click Save at any time to save your changes and remain at this step.

You can click <<Back to return to the previous step. If you have made changes that are not saved, the system prompts you to continue or cancel.

You can click Cancel at any time to return to the Poll Builder Home page without saving your changes. If you have made changes that are not saved, the system prompts you to continue or cancel.

  5. Click Save and Continue to Deployment to continue to Step 6.

Note: The way your poll appears in Microsoft Outlook 2007 might not be as expected. This is a known issue in Outlook 2007.
